Posted March 9, 201411 yr Must the new ForgeGradle be used with Eclipse, or is it possible to use with, say, Notepad++? Apologies if this is a silly question, I have never worked with Gradle before.
March 9, 201411 yr You don't have to use it with eclipse, I think. But it is the best way. If you want to use another Editor, just create your code in the src folder and build it with gradle. By the way: Why do you want to use notepad? Eclipse is much better http://i.imgur.com/wNvtGZw.png[/img] MODS and MODDING TUTORIALS
March 9, 201411 yr Author Okay, thank you. I have used Notepad++ in the past, not Notepad, and I'd be fine with learning to use Eclipse. But I have a pretty sizeable mod to update to 1.7 and I was wondering if I'd be able to do all the updating work in a program I'm familiar with if at all possible.
March 9, 201411 yr Unlike NP++, Eclipse can check your code on the fly and even prompt you with method and class name and arguments. Eclipse practically holds your hand and leads you all the way. NP++? Nah, not so much. It's a dead scintilla wrapper. -S- (if I helped, please click Thank and applaud) http://6upnqa.dm2301.livefilestore.com/y2mtf-vG7Tqq1TiiVpIm53KWj7294NDPoHfSHHb4PzZiMAUfRCfK0UY0MwOu7Q3zTBNVTKqWjr2-xgBfFRpQT5p-QivtvknPpoABMNUw9br9WuZcBFkjePhnAbW500gVm-P/sequiturian.png[/img]
