First of all, before starting I have to say that I'm not very good at maths.

I don't want to know how other mods generate their ores, structures and biomes, since there's no math involved. What I'm trying to do is make a volcano. (ouch)

I've seen Project Red's Source code and I really couldn't understand anything of how they achieve this.

Seriously, should I stop my mod because of this? Because maths are involved in particles and terrain gen, that I really need, and I'm 14, so can't have an huge knowledge.

I'm banging my head against a wall right now.

I try my best, so apologies if I said something obviously stupid!

Hi

As far as I can see Project Red's code is all about logic gates which I don't reckon would help you design a volcano much.

I reckon you could have a decent chance of generating volcano shapes and spitting out flames, ash particles etc with some fairly simple math.  The only math you need is in a lot of the vanilla already eg most of the particle stuff

If you have any particular effect you're trying to achieve, may as well ask us :-)
