I've just added ThermalExpansion to a older 1.6.4 world.  The only thing I'm short of in the old chunks is silver.  I've seen the COFH regen flag but these can be dangerous.  Is there anyone else who's used it successfully?

If not, do you think it would be possible to morph an existing ore to TE Silver. For example, I have Tin from Forestry, Tinkers', and IC2.  Maybe I could trick the world into remapping one of those as Silver, somehow via the OreDictionary?

Appreciate your ideas.

Well you can remove a chunk data and let the game regenerate it.

That would also regenerate other ores and delete any player-built stuff inside, though.

But considering you could also explore your world further to get the same stuff, or put back the data after trying, i don't see any issue with that.
