Dear Minecraft Forge,

I have a problem installing. I am using minecraft 1.7.9 with launcher 1.4.2, and the latest download (downloaded 3 times, so im sure its latest).

When I press Install (from the .exe and the .jar both) it gives an error "you have to run 1.7.2 manually at least once '.

I have played minecraft for some time already, and not sure what the problem is.

EDIT: I already saw the EAQ where you say I need to run the vanilla Minecraft without MODS, but I have never installed MODS before, this was gonna be the first time.

EDIT2: I also disabled a SKIN, so that that would not interfere either.

Thanks!

You're using the wrong minecraft version, you can't expect a 1.7.2 version of forge to work with a 1.7.9 version of minecraft!

When you run the launcher hit edit profile, and under version selection, select 1.7.2 release, then launch minecraft, you should then be able to install forge.
