Can't run Minecraft with Forge. No mods installed

Every time I try to generate a world with Forge installed, I get a crash. I've tried re-installing several times and have watched many videos to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. I'm about to give up on mods and play vanilla for good, but as a last resort, I've come here to ask for any help whatsoever. PLEASE HELP! :'(

Here is the crash report:

Try adding

-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

to the VM args in the profile options.

IT WORKED! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I really appreciate the help. If you don't mind, could you elaborate a little on what the problem was and why this helped?

Hmmm. Now I can't even get Minecraft to launch. I get the following Java error in a separate window:

Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.

Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.

Any idea what this could be?
