Ernio
public IIcon getIcon(ItemStack itemstack, int pass) Is a method called by renderers that update equipped items. You have to use this: public IIcon getIconIndex(ItemStack itemstack) Quote 1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.
UFIOES
To set the icon in inventories, you need to set itemIcon instance variable, also you may need to save your first icon as "itemIcon1" or else you will lose it when you switch to the second icon. Try this: public void registerIcons(IIconRegister iconReg) { this.itemIcon1 = iconReg.registerIcon("something"); this.itemIcon2= iconReg.registerIcon("something"); } public IIcon getIcon(ItemStack itemstack, int pass) { if(itemstack.stackTagCompound.getInteger("Timer") > 0) { this.itemIcon = itemIcon2; return this.itemIcon2; } else { this.itemIcon = itemIcon1; return this.itemIcon1; } }
