Transparent stairs block not showing correctly in hand

So, I created a black stairs block using the black glass texture, but it doesn't seem to show the transparency when holding it.

    Bump, Also, the textures worked fine in Minecraft 1.6.4 so I believe it must have something to do with the new transparency rendering, but I can't seem to figure out what needs to be changed so the icon shows correctly.
