1.7.10 will not unpack

It has been stuck on this portion. "Unpacking packed file scala-compiler-2.11.1.jar.pack.xz" How do I fix this?

You need to run the installer with more heap.

Follow this video :

but instead of

java -jar <forge installer name>

use :

java -Xmx1024M -jar <forge installer name>

Why is it that I seem to be the only one who cannot read what Lex has input into his run prompt?  All I can see is blurry white over blue.  I'd love to fix this as my 6 y/o is driving me crazy about not being able to play MC with his mods!  I can't even go back to an older version b/c we get an error on launch when we try to run any version of Forge.  Please help!
