I am reasonably new to mod development and am working on a project which I want to incorporate 3D textured, handheld items.

So, during development of my Minecraft mod I thought it would be cool if I could make the item I added 3D when held by the player...similar to that of Flan's Mod guns using 3D models, for example.

Now, I know how to create models using Blender but wondered if anyone could help me with how to use them as the 3D texture for an item in my mod like how to use the advanced model loader to implement custom '.obj's.

Thanks, now all I need is to know how to use this model in Eclipse for the item itself...

You can get a IModelCustom (or something like that) using AdvancedModelLoader.loadModel(ResourceLocation), on which you can call the renderAll method, which renders the model for you. You need to do all of that in a class that implements IItemRenderer.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

Okay, well I am reasonably new to modding and have not yet got into things like the custom rendering so I will have a look around for that, thanks
