This morning I successfully installed Forge but was unable to select the Forge version profile in the Minecraft launcher. Google and a search through this forum haven't yielded any results. The weird part is that I could select the profile when installing LiteLoader but the profile still won't display in the profile editor. Yes, I installed to the right directory. I've used Forge with Minecraft for a while.

Here's what my launcher_profiles.json looks like:

{

  "profiles": {

    "mollymollykelkel": {

      "name": "mollymollykelkel",

      "lastVersionId": "1.7.10"

    }

  },

  "selectedProfile": "mollymollykelkel",

  "clientToken": "a426f238-987d-4ae6-8292-c057370fd4f1",

  "authenticationDatabase": {

    "<redacted>": {

      "displayName": "mollymollykelkel",

      "accessToken": "<redacted>",

      "userid": "<redacted>",

      "uuid": "<redacted>",

      "username": "[my email]"

    }

  },

  "selectedUser": "<redacted>",

  "launcherVersion": {

    "name": "1.5.3",

    "format": 17

  }

}

Exact list of steps:

1) Ran vanilla Minecraft and close it.

2) Downloaded 1.7.10 reccomended installer from here

3) Successfully installed Forge

4) Opened Minecraft launcher

5) Selected 'new profile'

5) Went to select Minecraft version

6) Forge was not present in drop down menu

I'm totally clueless as to how to fix this. Please halp.

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been sick all day and fall asleep.

Is there any way you could go through this process with me step by step? I'm just copypastaing what you gave me into the command line and it says the syntax is incorrect. I'm sure I'm just misunderstanding you though.

there must be a space between java and -. And you must remove the quotation marks :

java -jar forge-1.7.10-10.13.2.1230-installer.jar

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. The holidays got busy and this whole thing has been kinda stressful so I just left it until I had more time.

Unfortunately, this is giving me, "Error: unable to access forge-1.7.10-10.13.2.1230-installer-win.jar"
