[1.7.10]Enabling the DEBUG in ArmorProperties

I'm having some issues tracking down where my code is going wrong and I would like to change the value of DEBUG in ArmorProperties to true to try and track it down. It says right in the code that it was left in so that modders could use it, but I can't change it. Anyone know how?
