Posted February 15, 201510 yr I have been poking around using the --dataDir option to relocate the minecraft saves and user data only on my little LAN server. But i ran into an issue i have seen only a few times with a couple of other games, in that they simply slow to crawl whilst accessing/reading their data from a network share. (company of heroes was one) Is anyone using this sort of setup ?. The server gets backed up etc. And for the zealots who will not be able to resist piping up with WHY blah blah blah .
