Posted April 3, 201510 yr Okay, I have not much experience in modding, and only vague experience in modding. I can code, add blocks items, mobs, gui etc. but I am faced with an ENTITY problem. You know how the wither destroys blocks when it collides with blocks? i need to replicate that on a walking mob. The provided source code is very messy (p_82381_a etc.) so it is very difficult to read that. What i need from you is a working way of achieving my goal. Thanks in advance
April 3, 201510 yr Is this a custom mob or the vanilla mobs. The problem will come from the pathfinding. Most vanilla entities, and many that people make custom, have an AI list that includes pathfinding using the navigator. The pathfinding specifically prevents collisions since its normal function is to find a path where the entity doesn't collide. I think, not entirely sure, that you can set the position of an entity inside a block's space, but you can't assume that a mob using normal walking AI would ever do that. April 3, 201510 yr Author custom mobs are being used and a heavy speed buff is added, so pathfinding isnt an issue. Plus the hitbox is very big so it is bound to collide one way or another
