Hey,

When im giving item from my mod it looks like this :

Why there is the -- item. ?

I'm beginner in java and in minecraft modding.

Please be specific.

Any code examples are appreciated.

Im registering it like so 

GameRegistry.registerItem(NetherGate, NetherGate.getUnlocalizedName());

i dont have anything like itm. in it.
