July 17, 201510 yr Ok. And some code cleanup: Initialize your blocks and items in preinit or init, this will make for cleaner code. Also, I don't use chain configuration. Instead of new blockPlatinumFurnaceClass(true).setBlockName("PlatinumFurnaceActive").setHardness(4.0F).setLightLevel(0.7F); I would change it to something like this: new blockPlatinumFurnaceClass(true, "PlatinumFurnaceActive", 4.0F, 0.7F); And put all the methods like this: setBlockName("PlatinumFurnaceActive"); setHardness(4.0F); setLightLevel(0.7F); into your constructor, if that make sense. But if you want to still use the bulky chain configuration that's fine.
July 17, 201510 yr As for the textures, run it again and check the log. If there is something like "FileNotFound" tell me. Also, I may need some more info, like the forge version you are using.

July 17, 201510 yr Ok, there's your problem. Your assets folder has to match your modid, not your mod's name. Change it to "assets.firstmod.textures.items" instead.

July 17, 201510 yr Oh ya. A thing to remember. Don't change your modid to uppercase, your textures will stop working all together. I don't know why but they do.
