Hey guys, I started having this issue when I update to the latest recommended version of forge mdk for 1.8 (yes I know I need to update to 1.8.9). I could've sworn I have everything done right unless something changed recently. Here is the log:

The JSON files are here: https://github.com/KaminoCoding/CommuMod/tree/master/src/main/resources/assets/commumod/blockstates

And here: https://github.com/KaminoCoding/CommuMod/tree/master/src/main/resources/assets/commumod/models

I have no idea whats wrong because as far as i could tell it mimicked the vanilla source version of doing it.

The problem is in your source code.  You need to instantiate your blocks and (in client proxy) mesh your items. I don't see any of that. You can't do everything in blockstates. Null is rarely a good thing in your log file error messages. A mod needs Java too.

Also, for example, one blockstates file has "model": "commumod:retawBlock" , but the log shows need for commumod:retaw#level=14. Find out why there's a difference.

The debugger is a powerful and necessary tool in any IDE, so learn how to use it. You'll be able to tell us more and get better help here if you investigate your runtime problems in the debugger before posting.

    public BlockRetaw(Fluid fluid, Material material) {
        super(ModFluids.retaw, materialRetaw, Reference.MODID + ":" + "retaw");
        setUnlocalizedName("retaw");
        setHardness(1F);
        setQuantaPerBlock(LEVELS);
        setTickRate(20);
    }

You've set the name to "retaw". It looks for retaw.json. That file doesn't exist. It returns an error.

Did I help you? Don't be afraid to give that 'thank you' button a good smack for me!

It's been looking at me weirdly for a while now.

    • Version 1.19 - Forge 41.0.63 I want to create a wolf entity that I can ride, so far it seems to be working, but the problem is that when I get on the wolf, I can’t control it. I then discovered that the issue is that the server doesn’t detect that I’m riding the wolf, so I’m struggling with synchronization. However, it seems to not be working properly. As I understand it, the server receives the packet but doesn’t register it correctly. I’m a bit new to Java, and I’ll try to provide all the relevant code and prints *The comments and prints are translated by chatgpt since they were originally in Spanish* Thank you very much in advance No player is mounted, or the passenger is not a player.
