Minecraft doesn't start when i click launch (1.8.9)

hi,

i'm using the default minecraft launcher.

and i installed forge using the windows installer and the recommended version of forge, for minecraft 1.8.9.

my problem is, when i click launch it runs the downloads but instead of lunching minecraft like normal. it just finishes the downloads and sits there. as if i never clicked launch.

the launcher log displays this

[13:37:27 ERROR]: Gave up trying to download http://resources.download.minecraft.net/3d/3d98b4b7c37a09101da00d8a3078e0acba6558f4 for job 'Resources'

My friend keeps getting disconnected from our Forge Server

It is, but that is mainly to set up configs per player, I think. I don't believe it is messing chest inventories. I can try to remove that one tho and see if it fixes anything.

After doing a bit of testing, it seems like every time that they were kicked out, they had taken something out of a chest, then it gives them this error “Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.util.zip.DataFormatException: invalid distance too far back”
