I'm working on a port for my mod to 1.9 and with porting comes with some problems, I am having trouble with the how the armor layout texture works it used to be something this:

@Override
public String getArmorTexture(ItemStack stack, Entity entity, int slot, String type){
	if(this.armorType == 2){
		return "legging texture";
	}
	return "other texture";
}

How do you do this now in 1.9?
