Posted March 21, 20169 yr I have rendered a beacon style beam from a tile entity and it works but only when you are looking at it. but if I look just above my current position then it disappears I have set both max render distance the same as the beacon tileentity and also the render bounding box to infinite @Override @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public double getMaxRenderDistanceSquared() { return 65536.0D; } @Override @SideOnly(Side.CLIENT) public AxisAlignedBB getRenderBoundingBox() { return INFINITE_EXTENT_AABB; } but still don't know why it is not rendering, any help would be much appreciated
March 21, 20169 yr In 1.8 the INFINITE_EXTENDED_AABB seem not to work probably. maybe you try to make a box from y 0 to 255 and with correct x/z cords catch(Exception e) { } Yay, Pokémon exception handling, gotta catch 'em all (and then do nothing with 'em).

March 21, 20169 yr Looking at TileEntityBeaconRenderer , I think you need to override TileEntitySpecialRenderer#isGlobalRenderer to return true . Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
