Posted December 3, 201212 yr I would like to change the generation of the standard world. I would like to change the height of the landscape (var6 in generateTerrain() of ChunkProviderGenerate?) and the generation of stone block id depending of type of biome. Is this possible without changing vanilla classes?
December 4, 201212 yr As someone who's tried this, in a short answer; no. No you cannot. Run while you still can and save yourself the hours of pain, headaches, and for some reason stripey terrain generation.
December 12, 201212 yr seems strange that there isnt terrain hooks in forge to modify the world gen. I know, it's crazy... We should try to make it happen
December 13, 201212 yr well, according to GitHub and the last changelog, they added some events to the worldgen. http://files.minecraftforge.net/minecraftforge/minecraftforge-changelog-1.4.5-6.4.2.443.txt even though i have absolutely no idea how to use them. maybe this helps. http://jd.minecraftforge.net/net/minecraftforge/event/terraingen/package-tree.html
