Forge does not add my mod when building

Hey everyone. I'm just trying to get my head wrapped around Forge, and the process seems way more arduous than it should be.

 

I'm using IntelliJ, because I'm familiar with JetBrains' other program offerings. I believe that I've set up Forge correctly (though I can't be certain, documentation and processes for it are all over the place and I can't get a solid answer by reading through), and I've created my mod class, but it doesn't get added to Minecraft when I use the gradle runClient command.

I followed the instructions for setting up the IntelliJ environment that were on the ReadTheDocs for Forge, so if there's anything extra that I need to do that isn't listed there, please let me know.
