June 21, 20169 yr getMinecraft() will return null if you call it too early (like in preInit). It is now recommended that the mesher be avoided. Per Choonster, Models can be registered in preInit if you use Forge's ModelLoader.setCustomMeshDefinition and ModelLoader.setCustomModelResourceLocation methods instead of... the mesher. The debugger is a powerful and necessary tool in any IDE, so learn how to use it. You'll be able to tell us more and get better help here if you investigate your runtime problems in the debugger before posting.
