Extarius Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 I am new to modding, and have watched several tutorials. But, in all of them, the 'Common' folder in Eclipse has many things in it. When I install Forge, however, the common folder is empty. I run Fedora 17 x86_64, and I did the following: 1. Made folder 'mcp' on my desktop (I let nautilus handle it) 2. Downloaded mcp v7.23, extracted into folder 'mcp' 3. Downloaded forge recommended src (6.4.2.445) and extracted into folder 'mcp' 4. Placed unmodded 'bin' and 'resource' folders from .minecraft (/home/user/.minecraft on my system) into 'jars' folder in mcp 5. Placed unmodded minecraft_server.jar into 'jars' folder in mcp 6. Ran install.sh in terminal If this sheds any additional light on the problem, when I try to run the client using startclient.sh in the mcp folder, I get a critical error and this log: http://pastebin.com/GGFpz8EF Also, I have removed the .bat files from the mcp directory as they are of no use to me. I've tested this, and it doesn't seem to change anything. I removed nothing from the forge directory. I'm not sure if this is intentional or a part of the problem, but the install.sh script seems to exit rather abruptly without any warning, and it doesn't seem to be outputting anything along the lines of "Install completed, exiting". Any help is much appreciated. Edit: In case my description is unclear, here is an image: http://i.imgur.com/LcDgJ.png Quote
Rowsell99 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 In the latest verisons of Forge the src and common folder have been merged to make things easier. You can follow the tutorial you are using just put your packages in minecraft/src. Quote
