Posted April 1, 20178 yr I am creating a custom bow called the Bow of Kindred with a unique texture feature/effect: a custom position and to make it glow. Texture positioning When not drawn, the player runs around the world with the bow in hand like a regular bow. But when the bow is drawn, it switches from a vertical position to a horizontal position. This screenshot shows it looking properly in Minecraft 1.7.10: So far my attempts as trying to figure out this how this works for the weird .json junk haven't been successful. With what I have, when the bow is pulled, the textureless purple box appears. Below is what I have coded so far. bow_of_kindred.json Spoiler { "parent": "item/generated", "textures": { "layer0": "kindredlegacy:items/bow_of_kindred/bow_of_kindred_standby" }, "display": { pulled? Glow Effect: I have absolutely no idea where to even start looking to make the bow texture glow like in the screenshot above with the .json junk. If someone might have some ideas on where to go with that, that would be great. In 1.7.10, the bow rendering was based on clever use of the Spider/Enderman render code.
April 1, 20178 yr Your bow_of_kindred_pulling_0.json has a syntax error - you are missing a closing brace at the end of the file.
