mods not loading into forge in ver 1.11.2 on OSX

So I've always found the whole process of downloading mods a bit daunting but decided to give it a shot today. I'm currently trying to install BiomesOPlenty for 1.11.2, yet when I drag it into the mods folder, nothing shows up. I've tried everything I can think of, but with the most minimal java know-how on the planet, that's not much. I do know people ask for logs a lot, does this help?

I'm not the most tech-savvy person out there, but I'm doing my best. Honestly, all I want are some new biomes!
