Cannot install on mac; installer not working [1.11.2-13.20.0.2315-installer]

Hey everyone, I've been trying to get this darn thing installed for quite sometime and it just doesn't want to boot up the installer. I am on mac (unfortunately) and when ever I open the .jar file it simply unzips itself, what can i do to remedy the problem?

That did not assist in this issue, to quote my terminal "Error: Unable to access jarfile forge-1.11.2-13.20.0.2228-installer.jar"

My friend keeps getting disconnected from our Forge Server

It is, but that is mainly to set up configs per player, I think. I don't believe it is messing chest inventories. I can try to remove that one tho and see if it fixes anything.

After doing a bit of testing, it seems like every time that they were kicked out, they had taken something out of a chest, then it gives them this error “Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.DecoderException: java.util.zip.DataFormatException: invalid distance too far back”
