Forge freezes loading the game with no mods on folder

I could only see the main menu once by luck   Usually forge freezes at texture mipmap upload but always with a different block / file

1.11.2 - 13.20.0.2228 also has the same issue

I always had to kill the game's process. Cpu usage was at 100% at one core.

I'm not using an intel cpu but disabling the splash screen solves the issue. Is this a bug with Mesa drivers?
