Game crashes trying to start Forge 1.12

I downloaded the .jar file, installed it with the most recent version of Java and made the nre Forge 1.12 profile. Game tries to start, then crashes and it get this:

The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: java.lang.VerifyError: Bad return type

 

I try to view crash report and nothing happens.

 

Please help!

I'm sorry, I'm kind of new to this. The only logs I found were the output logs in the settings?

Oh. I thought those would work like everything else, and just not work with the wrong version  I feel silly now. Thank you so much!
