Posted July 3, 20178 yr I want to install a mod on the 1.12 version of minecraft, but i also got mod installed on the 1.11.2 version, so when i start up my 1.12 forge game, it says that the 1.11.2 mods are outdated, Is there a possible way to play with my mods on 1.12 while keeping my other mods in 1.11.2?

The game directory is just where that particular version will put it's mods, configs, worlds, etc. This way you can have multiple versions side by side without interference. So you mean i can just make a new .Minecraft folder (named differently) and everything will be put there?
