How can I render entities like players, mobs and chests in front of the wall of blocks?

I want to make them being seeable through the walls.

I have achieved the similar effect with glow potion effect, but the problem is that that is the just outline.

I want to have skin shown and whole player's body.

Something like in the attached screenshot.

How can I achieve this?

I've asked people who did Forge before, and they said that it has something do to with "Z" rendering value, I don't know where to use it or how to use.

What about chests? AFAIK they are not players... And nametags?
