Problem with building a mod that uses PlayerApi

Unfortunately I have not enough experience with gradle or whatever made this stuff occur. I added playerapi to the libraries in my project but upon building this is the stacktrace it shows:

I am probably missing out on a really obvious thing here. But it would be very much appreciated if someone could quickly assist me on this

You have to tell gradle about your dependencies, not your IDE (gradle then tells the IDE). With ForgeGradle you can just put jar files in /libs and they will be added.

Could you quickly explain me how i would actually do that? Because your explanation makes sense to me but i have no clue how to do it...

your directory structure should look something like.... (if you don't have a libs folder create it in the project director. Place the dependent jar file in there

 

Project folder

\bin

\build

\eclipse

\gradle

\libs  --> create if not there, put dependent jar file there

\run

\src

I figured out how to do it, sorry for letting you guys know only this late. Thanks for the help though :)

    • It depends on the data you want to save, but generally speaking you should use some custom Player Capabilities, attach to the Player and use them to store/retrieve any kind of data you want. You can find how to make them work for 1.20.x in the documentation here: https://docs.minecraftforge.net/en/latest/datastorage/capabilities/
