1.11 EntityList.getKey(Entity) equivalent for 1.10?

I would like to get the entityId of an entity (e.g. minecraft:cow) in 1.10 but getKey() doesn't exist.
I've tried with EntityList.getEntityString() but returns Cow and not minecraft:cow
