Making player move/dig

I need to make player moving and using a tool in hand is there any way?

You can make the player move by editing x y and z motion variables or using the addVelocity method inside of the player class. I am not sure about digging, but I know you can make the player swing it's arm.

Wtf?! Where did you learned to make mods? That documentation for forge is unuseable! I have no idea how to use addVelocity. Can anybody help me?

what is "EntityLivingBase#travel" it sounds workable but I have no idea how to use it
