[1.7.10] Is client always aware of all players on the server?

I'm making a client-side only mod, which is intended to retrieve and process the position of every player on the server.

I tried using

Minecraft.getMinecraft().theWorld.playerEntities

which is almost what I need but this list isn't complete. It misses players which are far away from me.

How can I get all of the players?
