Forge 1.12.2 Won't Open

Recommended Posts

Hello. Most of my Forge playing has been on 1.7.10, and it has been working smoothly. Recently I found a mod that I wanted to play only on 1.12.2. I decided to download the mod and Forge 1.12.2. I follow the process. I go to my launcher, select the Forge 1.12.2, and click play. The launcher closes like normal, but, nothing. Nothing opens. After 10 minutes and multiple tries, no game window opens. I tried turning on the output log into the launcher. It opens, but the game doesn't. I can read the log for a second but then it becomes grey with the "Minecraft launcher has stopped working". That multiple times as well. I've tried using different versions of Forge too. I've deleted and reinstalled it. Nothing works.

Well the fact that you are viewing them means they have to be in there somewhere. I'm just not willing to view a lot of different screenshots to help you solve this. The logs are in the Minecraft/logs folder or in the Minecraft/crash reports folder. Please upload those.

    • Hello, I have been suffering with consistent crashes either during load up or during play-time. I have updated all drivers, updated and reinstalled java versions, and tried curseforge, GDLauncher, and PrismLauncher. I am struggling to find the issue of the crash as it is inhibiting me from playing. Please help, thanks. https://pastebin.com/GnQHr6sZ https://pastebin.com/6EyR1Sgk

    • Thanks for the response. I ended up going with this:   public class PlayerDeathHandler { @SubscribeEvent public void playerKilled(LivingDeathEvent event) { if (event.getEntity() instanceof Player player) { ItemStack poppetStack = new ItemStack(ModItems.DEATH_PROTECTION_POPPET.get()); if (player.getInventory().contains(poppetStack)) { event.setCanceled(true); player.setHealth(player.getMaxHealth()); for (int i = 0; i < player.getInventory().getContainerSize(); i++) { ItemStack stackInSlot = player.getInventory().getItem(i); if (stackInSlot.getItem() == poppetStack.getItem()) { stackInSlot.shrink(1); if (stackInSlot.isEmpty()) { player.getInventory().setItem(i, ItemStack.EMPTY); } break; } } } } } } It works like a charm, but are there any issues that COULD arise using this? I don't have much experience with Forge, so I'm not sure about the common issues and whatnot.
