Hallo,

I have Mincraft 1.6.0.

I tried to install Minecraft forge by running  an installer from [redacted],

and the installer dropped some files into C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\

When I start minecraft, I do not observe any change.     I seems that my Minecraft installation is

independent on the directory C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft, e.g., when

I rename the directory C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft,  minecraft still

runs as usual.

Only ever download Forge from http://files.minecraftforge.net/. Other sites will potentially give you unwanted stuff, including viruses.

Yes,  I got some offers to install stuff.....

I did not find an installer for Minecraft 1.6.0, so I tried the installer for 1.6.1, it just got the message

"You need to run the version 1.6.1 manually at least once."
