How to simulate player walking on block? Specifically making hand animation work.

Hey, I'm making a mod in forge for Minecraft 1.12.2, I'm making entities with detailed collision boxes that can be rotated and such, and I've got it to the point where the player can walk on the entity by setting the entity motionY to 0 constantly and setting onGround to true constantly. I'm trying to figure out how to get the players hand animation to play while they're walking on the entity, I've attached a video showing how it works on the blocks but not on the entity.

If I understand your question, I believe you're looking for player.swingArm()
