Minecraft Forge 1.8.9

Hi. I recently made the change from version 1.12.2 over to version 1.8.9, to enhance my PvP capabilities in Hypixel BedWars. I downloaded Forge v.1.8.9 and proceeded to install it. However, when I selected it from the launcher, it briefly began to load, but then the directory crashed. A pop-up then appeared, saying that I was using an "unsupported modified version of the game". This proved troubling for me, as I could no longer find a way to use forge for version 1.8.9.

 

If anyone could possibly help me with this situation, or even provide to me a way in which I can use mods without forge, that would be really helpful.

Forge 1.8.9 is no longer supported.

 

Forge is the overlay that sits between Minecraft and mods, without it, or another 'brand' of the same thing, mods do not work.
