[1.14.3] Custom redstone wire not providing power

Hi, I have a custom redstone wire that is basically just a copy of the RedstoneWireBlock class, yet it doesn't provide power unless it is "straightened" first. This should show what I mean: 

Anyways, how is this fixed? Thanks
