Can't install Forge: "Couldn't load local version"

Can't get Forge to run! Using Minecraft 1.14.4 and forge-1.14.4-28.0.11-installer on Ubuntu 16.04 with Java 8 Launcher Log throws this error: ERROR]: Couldn't load local version /home/Fred49/.minecraft/versions/1.14.4-forge-28.0.11/1.14.4-forge-28.0.11.json Full log: https://pastebin.com/MYxQQZN5 Installer log is here: https://pastebin.com/dwCdL02r Any help appreciated.
