Posted February 16, 20205 yr Hi all, Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this question. I am familiar with Java from my university classes, and I wish to use my attained Java skills to create fun things, and I figured that Minecraft modding would be a decent place to start, since I love the game. I'm reading through the documentation of Forge, and I'm unsure if it is recommended to run a specific version of the JDK, or if the latest version would be fine for compiling via IDEA. Thanks!
February 16, 20205 yr Minecraft targets Java 8, Forge always targets the same as Minecraft, but both should be able to be used up until Java 10. Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Update to the latest version for support. http://www.howoldisminecraft1710.today/
