Hey everyone,

I am trying to replace a chunk during rendering, without actually modifying the blocks.

So if there were chunks A and B, how would one render chunk B in place of chunk A without changing the BlockStates? Is it even possible?

Hi

It's for sure possible but you will probably need to dig deep into the code and pull a number of not-very-robust tricks.  Unless you're an advanced modder I wouldn't recommend it unless you're up for a frustrating challenge.

Ah, thanks for warning me!

After snooping around for a bit, I can see that it will be very hacky.

So far the best option I have found would be to replace the static generateCache function in the ChunkRenderCache class, but I'd like to avoid using reflection if possible (Although it's probably unavoidable).
