How do I disable the nether portal generation when using /forge setdimension

I made a custom dimension and whenever I use /forge setdimension to enter it it generates a nether portal which is super annoying.

1.14.4 lacks the ITeleporter interface, which makes it impossible to fix this.

 

Feel free to submit a PR that backports the feature or just update to 1.15.

Wouldn't it be possible to create a custom teleporter command?

I'll try it out. Anything important I need to know to do this? I believe mcjty did this in his minecraft dimension tutorial, but he does not go into detail.
