How would I go about making a custom sword?

I have a mod with a bunch of custom items, but they all use one universal mod item tier. I want to make one seperate class for just a fire sword. What do I include it it? How do I give it the ability to have fire aspect on it without enchanting anything? Everything I have searched has been outdated.
