does anyone know how to make it so i can use a 128x128 texture rather than 16x16 for a block? i tried using one and it showed the texture on the item but not on the block when i placed it.

 

edit: no matter what size the texture is it doesnt show on the placed block

 

edit 2: im dumb and misspelled variant in the blockstates file

For reference, my opinion on using large textures is to have them delegated in a resource pack to be shipped with the mod while the main mod has the 16x16 textures for those with less powerful computers. High quality images mapped to objects tends to have a large effect on the processing speed of the game.
