How do you give a weapon more knock back without enchanting

I'm trying to create a mod that adds war hammers into the game. But there is one, I want them to be able to knock back enemies farther than usual. Now I know there is an enchantment that does that but I want it to have more knock back upon creation of the weapon, without enchanting. Help?
