Hi,

I want to make special boat that behaves a bit like the vanilla boat. I want to base my code on the original boat code. But the actual code where it says "if (w is pressed) go forward" is nowhere to be found. Can you help me find it?

Thanks a lot!

Try looking at EntityBoat in

Thank you dude, but I've essentially read the whole class. Right now I'm assuming the boat reacts to keyboard inputs by looking up what the riddenByEntity would do (the player, in most cases).

I couldn't find anything in EntityBoat either... but I did find a method that worked (sort of.) Here's my onUpdate code (if you want to see all of my code, it's in my Github repo.

        @Override
        public void onUpdate(){
                this.prevPosX = this.posX;
                this.prevPosY = this.posY;
                this.prevPosZ = this.posZ;
                this.motionY -= 1/32.;
                this.moveEntity(this.motionX,this.motionY,this.motionZ);
                if(this.riddenByEntity!=null){
                        if(Keyboard.isKeyDown(Keyboard.KEY_W)){
                                this.motionX = Math.cos(this.rotationYaw)*speed;
                                this.motionZ = Math.sin(this.rotationYaw)*speed;
                        }else{
                                this.motionX = 0;
                                this.motionZ = 0;
                        }
                        float dyaw = 0;
                        if(Keyboard.isKeyDown(Keyboard.KEY_A)){
                                dyaw = 1;
                        }
                        if(Keyboard.isKeyDown(Keyboard.KEY_D)){
                                dyaw = -1;
                        }
                        this.setRotation(this.rotationPitch,this.rotationYaw+dyaw);
                }
        }
