HELP needed to get pokemon on minecraft

I am new to this so please be kind, I have minecraft downloaded on my PC, i need to get the pixelmon mod downloaded, ive tried the newest version of forge then downloaded pixelmon, but it states that the version of pixelmon is for an older version of forge, so i downloaded the right one and i still cant get it to work, I need a walkthrough from start to finish, as simple as it can be
