(solved)Custom Fishing Rod not retracting

Well I am making a custom Fishing rod, and the EntityHook is thrown out perfectly fine, but when I try to retract the fishing rod this is what happens.

It just keeps throwing out a new entity. I could use some help.

 

 

The only class I think that should be needed is the Entity Class.

I had an idea  of maybe trying onItemRightClick if Entity(or bobber? idk) != null set Entity(or bobber?) to dead.

Well fishEntity is not a boolean so I can not set it to true nor false. I did try setting it  equal to null and != null but those did not work. I tried placing it in two different places

Another thing though fishEntity is not the rod its self it's actually an instance of a fishing rod's hook. If this isn't null, the icon image of the fishing rod is slightly different.

Er, not "true". But in the constructor of EntityFishHook there is a line that says "this.angler.fishEntity = this;". Since you're missing that line, angler.fishEntity keeps showing up as null.

 

However, EntityPlayer.fishEntity is type-protected to EntityFishHook. Which you don't extend. So you will need to alter your class to extend EntityFishHook, or else use IExtendedEntityProperties.

Alright I added the lines.

Alright did some tinkering and well the rod works  now and it retracts, but now I have a new issue. when I run the world the first time. everything works PERFECT if I use the rod it works too, but if I close Minecraft and reopen it. The world crahes on starting the world.

I have same problem, I didn't want to start new topic,

 

I open the game, and I use fishing rod but not pull it off, and save game and close, but when I restart game and try to join world, it gives this crash;

    • I figured out what was wrong ... you can spot it pretty quick most likely: { "type": "minecraft:smelting", "ingredient": { "item": "minecraft:gold_nugget_ore" }, "result": "minecraft:gold_nugget", "experience": 0.25, "cookingtime": 150 }   ... so, after changing `minecraft` to `foundations` for all the custom items and all the recipes work. Well that's what copy/paste will get you. One last question about recipes, though. What does the following json key/value do in the game? "group": "copper_ingot"

    • Is there a way to create a custom map marker for a custom structure/biome (same as a vanilla mansion)?
    • I’ve scrounged the Internet for solutions and found absolutely nothing that has worked for me I have posted my code in a GitHub Repository. I bet the culprit is somewhere in the Container or TileEntity classes (Furnace packages are in blocks/coke_furnace or blocks/foundry) PS I know I’m on 1.12.2 and that it’s not supported I don’t want to update my game or my code. Lol It’s my favorite version and the most widely modded. I don’t plan to release the mod, I’m just customizing my game to my will. I’ll send it to friends but that’s it.
