I installed Minecraft 1.16.4 a few days ago and played a game

Today I tried to install forge-1.16.4 but it is not appearing on the list of available installations.

I have re-run the forge install several times and every time it says it has installed successfully.

I have made sure that the Modded option is checked.

I have restarted my computer

My system is Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS.

I am now out of ideas and wondering if anybody can help?

What puzzles me is if i move the minecraft folder the loader still works. This suggest to me that it is not installed where it appears to be which would explain why forge is not appearing????
